  1. Hi all. Just wanted to mention that SALFA will once again hold a bake sale this Saturday December 12th at the Winter Farmers Market. If you would like to bake something, bring it in the morning. If you purchase something you will be supporting the upcoming Food Awareness Movie series being put on by SALFA.

I am investegating beginning a small market farm in Sheboygan County. Looking for potential market for winter harvested greens, carrots, leeks, etc.. Is this farmer market flooded with these items already or does the market focus mainly on value added items to where there may be room for fresh produce? Looking for potential sales prior to planting.

    Thanks, Anna

    • Good morning! I personally don’t think we are flooded with fresh local vegetables in the winter, but you might get a better-informed opinion from the folks that run the winter farmer’s market. Judy Tauschek is the contact person from the Sheboygan County Interfaith Organization, the folks who coordinate the farmer’s markets. You can contact her at 920-457-7272 ext. 11. Also, you may want to contact the people starting up a new food co-op, Goodside Grocery, 816 St. Clair Av. in Sheboygan, who I believe are looking for suppliers. You can contact them at

      Regards, Bobbie
